Best Time to Travel: Spring (April–May) & Autumn (September–early November)

Georgia stands at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, where Orthodox monasteries crown mountains and vineyards stretch from valleys. Travelling here connects you with 3,000 years of settlement, from Bronze Age caves to medieval fortresses, high Caucasus villages, and Tbilisi’s colourful old quarters and food traditions. Stroll the lanes of Mtskheta, take the Georgian Military Highway to Kazbegi, and taste wine in Kakheti’s clay amphora cellars.
Discover Georgia
Tbilisi’s Sulphur Baths quarter traces back to the 5th century. Wooden balconies overhang narrow streets lined with Persian-style bathhouses, churches, and the Narikala Fortress. Visit the Anchiskhati Basilica (6th century) and stroll Rustaveli Avenue for art galleries and cafes.
Mtskheta, one of Georgia’s oldest cities, was its capital until the 5th century CE. The UNESCO-listed Jvari Monastery (6th century) and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (11th century) overlook the confluence of the Aragvi and Mtkvari rivers. Both remain pilgrimage sites of the Georgian Orthodox Church.
Winemaking in Georgia dates back over 8,000 years. In the Alazani Valley, visit traditional marani (wine cellars) where qvevri (large clay vessels) are still used for fermentation. The hilltop town of Sighnaghi offers views across vineyards and the Caucasus foothills.
