Best Time to Travel: Late Spring (May) & Early Autumn (September)

Poland is a bridge between the grandeur of the Renaissance and the energy of modern Europe. In one journey, you can traverse the Hanseatic waterfronts of the north, the royal chambers of Wawel Castle, and the primeval forests where European bison roam. Wander through the Venice of the North in Wrocław, pay tribute at the monuments of Warsaw, and lose yourself in Kraków’s 13th-century Rynek.
Discover Poland
Krakow, Poland’s royal capital from 1038 to 1596, is a UNESCO World Heritage city. The Wawel Castle complex, built between the 14th and 16th centuries, combines Gothic and Renaissance architecture. St. Mary’s Basilica (completed 1347) houses the wooden altarpiece by Veit Stoss, carved 1477–1489. The Kazimierz district, founded in the 14th century, preserves synagogues and Jewish heritage sites.
Warsaw’s Old Town was reconstructed brick by brick after World War II. The Royal Castle, originally built in the 14th century and restored in 1984, anchors Castle Square. The Warsaw Uprising Museum (opened 2004) documents the 1944 resistance. Wilanow Palace (1677–1696), once the royal summer residence, showcases Baroque interiors and gardens.
